Men are forever asking the question, "What do women want?" While the specific answer to this question varies according to the woman, the relationship and the situation, a more general answer can be given that applies across the board. Women want respect, trust and genuine expressions of your love.

She wants you to respect her enough to treat her as an equal in the arenas of work, money, household responsibility and division of labor. Do not assume that because you moved in together, she will take primary responsibility for laundry, dishes and other household necessities. Likewise, never assume that you will be the primary breadwinner.

She wants you to trust her enough to let her be her own person. Do not interfere with her friendships or family loyalties. Be supportive of her hobbies, even those that take her time and attention away from you. Do not become jealous or suspicious of her male friends. If she wanted to date them, she would.

She wants you to treat her like a princess. This does not mean to wait on her hand and foot and bow to her every whim. It means bringing her occasional small tokens to show you were thinking of her, offering to pay the check on many dates (whether she lets you pay is a different matter) and doing small things for her even if they are inconvenient to you.

If you remember these simple tips and apply them in your own relationship, you will find that you are rewarded in innumerable ways. Girls are more than willing to show their love in many different ways to guys who make them feel secure and important. Look for your girl to pull some surprises of her own.
